A short hike as the Sun cooked Malibu with 95 degree heat. I had planned to go further, following two trails that are on a map I found online, but couldn’t find one of them when I got out there and am unconvinced it actually exists. A fun day nevertheless.
A beach hike in Ventura, similar to the one I did a few months ago in Port Hueneme. The Sun was shining but a cool breeze kept things pleasant. I would say that the major drawback here is the number of people. I didn’t feel like I had a solitary moment the entire day.
I have had my eye on this hike for quite some time. I finally made the drive out to Azusa. I had prepared myself for a creek side hike with water crossings knee and even waist high. The water level wasn’t bad at all and I never even had to take off my hiking boots to keep my feet from getting wet. What I hadn’t mentally prepared for was the cliff-hugging sections of trail that left my nerves a bit frayed. This has to be the most dangerous trail I’ve hiked.
